Welcome to CycloVET

This project is funded by Erasmus+ which is the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport. Erasmus+ provides funding for Vocational and Educational Training (VET).

The European Commission takes cycling into account in various transport policy documents. see Cycling Mobility in the EU briefing published by the European Parliament Research service. The CycloVET project is part of the aim to increase cycling levels across Europe as discussed in this briefing document.

Cyclovet The project aims to promote the professional development of Cycling Instructors across Europe. There are already many European nations that have developed a training program for Cycling Instructors. Existing courses have ultimately aim to raise awareness and educate citizens on the safety and the typical rules of the road. These courses are usually organized by local public authorities (municipalities, regions) and / or school authorities. Often, the instructors of these programs are self-taught amateurs, experts in mobility or school teachers with insufficient skills or qualifications and inappropriate. CycloVet aims to fill this gap through the development of skills required and specifications for Cycling Instructors. This will ensure the recognition and mutual mobility of Cycling Instructors, contributing to the development of the European System of Qualification according to EQF standards, ECVET and NQF.
